Relaunch Dirt 3, change settings to select the Logitech MOMO Racing USB preset, then exit the game. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_CA03Įdit the OEMName value and see if it has a trailing space. It matches the lg_momo_racing_usb.xml file now. I edited the registry to show "Logitech MOMO Racing USB" instead, and it now is selectable in Dirt 3 as a default controller. On my system, I found the wheel OEMName entry in the registry was "Logitech MOMO Racing " with an EXTRA SPACE on the end, just as I typed it here, and without the word "USB". I'm pretty sure the Logitech MOMO Racing wheel should be detected by lg_momo_racing_usb.xml and the first few lines indicating the "deviceName" are how Dirt 3 decides if the wheel is something it knows about natively. XML files contain various bits for Dirt 3 to recognize and use USB wheels. In my case, it's in Games\Steam\steamapps\common\DiRT 3 Complete Edition\actionmapĪll those. If you look at your Steam games directory for Dirt 3 there is a list of "actionmap" settings for many wheels. In the Control Panel it appears as "Logitech MOMO Racing". I remember having this problem with the original Dirt 3, and there is a bit of a trick to get the wheel recognized. WARNING: REGISTRY EDITING AHEAD! Proceed with caution after backup.
